The Holy Bible - Genesis
The Holy Bible is a collection of books, each packed with wisdom and divine truth. I have decided to take on a challenge and read through these books every day. I will spend about 15 minutes each day, starting with the Book of Genesis.
Why read it?
In the Book of Genesis, we witness the very start of creation, the foundation of God’s promise to humanity, and the unfolding of His divine plan. From Adam and Eve in the garden, to the promises made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the story shows the grandeur of God’s care and the weakness of humanity saved by His mercy.
Favourite quote
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

Genesis 1:1–3
What I Loved
Genesis is a book full of amazing stories about how God shows His faithfulness to His people. Take Noah, for example. He was saved from the flood, and Abraham got an everlasting covenant from God. And Joseph, even though his brothers betrayed him, was exalted to save many lives. In each story, we see God’s amazing power and how He always has a plan, even when things are tough.
The genealogies, sometimes overlooked, are actually really important. They show how God has been taking care of people for generations. Every name in the book is a life that God knows and loves.
Key Takeaway
The Book of Genesis tells us that God is both the creator and the keeper of covenants. From the very beginning, we learn that God made the heavens and the earth with His own hands, and He created humans in His own image, so that they could shine a light on Him. But even though people fell away from God, His plan to save them never changed. The promises that God made to Abraham foreshadow the coming of the Messiah, who will bring blessings to all the people of the world.
